The victim of the Child Abuse charge and the L&L Battery charge is a 15-year-old female who was known to both suspects. Per Fl. Statute, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.
The victim of the Burglary with Assault/Battery charge is Colby Naler Smith.
What:
Detectives have arrested two men in connection to sexually abusing and physically abusing a female victim under the age of 16. One suspect is also charged with burglary with assault or battery after he entered the second suspect’s residence without permission and hit him in the face with a closed fist.
When:
The incidents occurred between June 12, 2014 and June 15, 2014.
Where:
The crime occurred at two private residences in Pinellas County.
Why/How:
Detectives were contacted on Monday, June 16, 2014 after it was reported that a suspect was observed to be undressed with a 15-year-old victim. Throughout the course of the investigation it became known that the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Colby Naler Smith and the victim had sexual contact on Sunday, June 15, 2014. During an interview with the victim, she disclosed to detectives that another suspect had also physically abused her on three different occasions between June 12, 2014 and June 14, 2014 because he did not want her around Smith. Detectives identified the second suspect as 20-year-old Alex Jeffrey Bokhouen.
Detectives met with Colby Naler Smith who admitted to the allegations of having sexual contact with the victim. During Smith’s interview with detectives, he advised that Bokhouen was upset that he had been with the victim, entered his home without permission and struck him in the face with a closed fist.
Bokhouen met with detectives on the afternoon of June 16, 2014 and admitted to the allegations of physically abusing the female victim and hitting Smith.
Both Smith and Bokhouen were arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Smith has been charged with one count of Lewd & Lascivious Battery. Bokhouen has been charged with one count of Child Abuse, one count of Burglary with Assault or Battery and one count of Violation of Probation.
The investigation continues.
