Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested a suspect in connection with the robbery at the BB&T Bank in Dunedin.

The robbery occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013.

The robbery occurred at the BB&T Bank located at 1478 Main Street in Dunedin.
Why/How:
Pinellas County Detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with the robbery at the BB&T Bank in Dunedin.
According to detectives, the suspect entered the BB&T bank at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013. The suspect handed a note to a bank employee, demanding money, and implied she had a gun. The suspect advised if she was given what she wanted, no one would be hurt. The employee complied and the suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
Citizens in the area found evidence the suspect disposed of nearby and provided it to detectives. This information assisted in the identification of the suspect. The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Renita Mount Rayner.
With the assistance of undercover detectives from the St. Petersburg Police Department, Rayner was located and held until Sheriff’s detectives arrived. Rayner was found shopping at a Save-A-Lot store located at 9th Street and 7th Avenue N. in St. Petersburg.
Rayner was arrested and charged with one count of Unarmed Bank Robbery. She has been transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
No one was hurt during the bank robbery.
The investigation continues.
