What:
Deputies have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at an Oldsmar sushi restaurant on Monday, May 6th 2013.

When:
The suspects were arrested in the evening hours of May 8, 2013.

Where:
The suspects were arrested in Pinellas County.

Why/How:
Through their investigation detectives were able to identify and develop probable cause for the arrest of 16-year-old Kevon Williams and 17-year-old Jordan Freemon.

Detectives say the two entered the Boton Sushi restaurant located at 300 E. State Street in Oldsmar, each held a gun to the owners’ heads (a male and a female) and initially demanded money from register. The male victim ultimately handed one of the suspects the tip jar – the suspect dropped the jar but then picked up an undisclosed amount of cash and a lottery ticket that was contained in the jar -off the floor.

Williams and Freemon then fled in a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jabari O. Wade. Wade was arrested on Monday evening May 6th. A witness provided a description of the vehicle and was able to provide investigators with a tag number. (See news release #13-099 for details.) Wade was arrested during a traffic stop that same evening.

Detectives say that Williams fled from the vehicle at the time of the stop on Wade. Freemon had exited the vehicle earlier in the evening.

Clearwater Police arrested Williams on a separate an unrelated warrant; and on the Sheriff’s Office armed robbery case.  Deputies arrested Freemon for armed robbery.

The two were transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center (PJAC).

The investigation continues.
