Suspect Descriptions:
Suspect #1 is described as a black male, early 20s, about 5’7″ tall, with a thin build. He has a short haircut. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt.
Suspect #2 is described as a black male, early 20s, about 5’4″ tall, with a medium build. He has a short haircut. He was last seen wearing a t-shirt, possibly dark blue in color.
What:
Patrol Deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at an Oldsmar Sushi Restaurant.
When:
Deputies responded at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013.
Where:
The robbery occurred at the Boton Sushi Restaurant located at 300 E. State Street in Oldsmar.
Why/How:
According to deputies, two suspects entered the Boton Sushi Restaurant. Each pointed a gun at the heads of the two persons working in the restaurant. The suspects demanded money from the register. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in what witnesses described as a gold four-door Taurus. A witness was able to get a tag number and the vehicle was subsequently located in the 1100 block of Lasalle Street in Clearwater.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop. Deputies say the driver, subsequently identified as 18-year-old Jabari O. Wade remained, while a passenger/ or two passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Through their investigation, deputies were able to connect Wade to the crime as the getaway driver for the robbery and arrested him as principal to armed robbery for his involvement as an accessory after the fact.
Two suspects are still being sought in the armed robbery. Their descriptions of the suspects are above.
The investigation continues.
