Arrested for Sexual Battery
The victim is a 17 year old female. Per Fl. Statute, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.
What:
Detectives have arrested a Madeira Beach man for sexual battery after he sexually battered the victim.
When:
The incident occurred on August 3, 2014 between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.
Where:
The crime occurred at a private residence.
Why/How:
Deputies were contacted by the victim’s parents on August 3, 2014 when the victim did not return home. The victim advised her parents she was going out with friends she met on the beach. When she did not return home they called the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Through various investigative techniques deputies were able to locate information which lead them to Justin Gregortis.
When deputies arrived at the suspect’s residence they located 17 year old victim with the 37 year old suspect. The victim alleged he forced her to have sex with him. During the suspect interview he admitted to detectives he had a sexual encounter with the victim.
Gregortis was charged with Sexual Battery and was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
Detectives believe there may be other victims. The suspect also goes by the name of “Gene.” Anyone with information is requested to contact Detective Bonasoro at (727)582-6200.
