Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Listed Chemicals.
What:
Deputies have arrested a man after he was found cooking meth in his car parked on Gandy Beach. The suspect was discovered in possession of Methamphetamine and various chemicals used in the production of Meth.
When:
Deputies noticed the vehicle at about 10:23 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Where:
The incident occurred on Gandy Beach.
Why/How:
Deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle, a dark colored Chevy Silverado, parked along the tree line of Gandy Beach. When the deputies made contact with the sole occupant, identified as 24-year-old Charles J. Tapp, they discovered several needles inside the truck. The suspect was also observed placing items into a bag located in the back seat of the truck. Through their investigation deputies also saw items indicating the vehicle was possibly being used to cook Methamphetamine.
Deputies summoned the assistance of Narcotics detectives. Tapp was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and Unlawful Possession of the Chemicals Pseudoephedrine and Hydrochloric Gas.
During an interview, the suspect admitted to actively manufacturing Methamphetamine. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
