Seven members from the Patrol Operations, Detentions and Corrections, Investigative Operations and Support Services Bureaus will be graduating.
What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing members who have completed Level II of Spanish Language for Law Enforcement with a graduation ceremony.
This is the 5th year that the Sheriff’s Office has offered Spanish language courses to its members.
The course is tailored specifically to the needs of Law Enforcement and was established in an effort to better serve the growing Hispanic population of Pinellas County.
When:
The ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Where:
The ceremony will be held at the Administrative Support Building (ASB) Classroom 3 located at 14400 49th Street North in Clearwater.
Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing members who have successfully completed Spanish for Law Enforcement Level II (a two-year program.)
The graduation of the group highlights the Sheriff’s Office continuing commitment to a program that has been tailored to the specific needs of Law Enforcement; and was designed in an effort to better serve the Spanish speaking community of Pinellas County.
The Sheriff’s Office plans to continue the program next fall with two Spanish Level I courses; one Spanish Level II course and one Spanish Level III maintenance course offered.
The course originally began as a year-long program and has expanded and evolved into a two-year long curriculum.
