What:
Deputies are conducting a death investigation at a construction site in Seminole. Preliminary information is that lightning may have been a factor in the death.
When:
Deputies responded at about 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Where:
Deputies responded to 7245 102nd Lane North in Seminole.
Why/How:
According to deputies, the deceased, identified as 40 year-old Agustin Navarrete-Guerrero was working on the construction of condominiums at the Bayou Grande Community in Seminole. As thunderstorms moved through the area, his roomate/co-worker went over to their vehicle to shut the windows and discovered Navarrete-Guerrero face down in muddy water. He was unresponsive.
Deputies say fellow workers called 911 and dragged Navarrete-Guerrero to the garage of a condominium under construction. They attempted CPR to no avail.
Seminole Fire rescue responded and pronounced him deceased on scene.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s office responded to conduct a death investigation.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.
Preliminary information is that lightning may have been a factor in the death.
The investigation continues.
