What: Post #900 attends May 2014 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegates Meeting and Pistol Competition in Pembroke Pines

How/Why:
Eight members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegate’s training event and pistol competition held in Pembroke Pines, Florida on May 2nd – 4th. Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training, which consisted of several different scenarios covering many law enforcement topics, including building searches and traffic stop investigations. The pistol competition was held at the Pembroke Pines Police Shooting Range.
During the individual shooting competition, Explorer Captain Spencer Shaw won 1st place in the Sharpshooter Division, Explorer Jeremy Hernandez won 3rd place in the Tyro Division and Explorer Kelley Butterfield won Overall Match.
Explorer Captain Spencer Shaw, Explorer Lieutenant Kelley Butterfield, Explorer Sergeant Lauren Paschall and Explorer Jeremy Hernandez participated in the Team Shooting Event and took 2nd place.
We are very proud of the efforts of the members of Post #900 during this delegate’s competition. These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off. Congratulations Explorer Post #900!
