Operation Medicine Cabinet collected 1,315.7 pounds of medications.

The seven locations in all collected 1,315.7 pounds.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (Sheriff’s Administration Building, North District, St. Pete Beach) 278 pounds
Clearwater Police Department: 619 pounds
St. Pete Police Department: 160.2 pounds
Pinellas Park Police Department 134.5 pounds
Kenneth City Police Department 124 pounds
The event is an opportunity for citizens to safely discard unused or expired prescription medications; and is a multi-agency effort aimed at addressing the problem of prescription drug abuse and keeping a clean environment.
Deputies say the public was pleased with the opportunity to drop off medications today in conjunction with National Take Back Day.
Operation Medicine Cabinet events began in May 2009 and have been held semi-annually (This is OMCs 11th installment).The OMC events, along with OMC’s permanent drop-off containers within the community, have collected 18,111.5 pounds of medications to date.
